Supermom to the rescue!
Share
Shai began her journey of trying natural remedies to get relief from a pesky, irritating skin ailment. As soon as I saw her struggle, I wanted to help in the best way I could. I suggested exfoliating and applying the oil I live by, Not just Cuticle Oil. After just one week, we saw improvement and were thrilled with the results. Shai started shedding dead skin, but one day, she found the exfoliating a bit too much. 😆
Despite this, Shai continued to use the oil, and her skin showed further improvement. However, when school started, she became stressed. Stress caused her to itch, and quite naturally, she scratched until she bled at times. With Mom not around to comfort her or apply oil, it was challenging. But Mom wasn't giving up, and neither was I.
Evolving the Skincare Plan
The process of finding the right solution involved several changes. We learned which clothes might irritate her skin and identified products that would benefit Shai in the long term. Often, people are given steroids to alleviate itching, but this can lead to dependency and may not provide true relief. When someone decides to stop using steroids, their body struggles to adjust, causing further frustration.
Determined to find a better path, we developed a skincare plan for Shai that was free of chemicals. She began bathing with natural soap and applied my whipped, unscented Shea Butter to keep her skin moist and relieve dryness.
Achieving Progress
Shai has been incredible throughout this journey, showing resilience and commitment. She is finally gaining momentum on her path to healthy skin, and we are optimistic about the continued progress.
